"PremiumNet" Network Option

"PremiumNet" is the best there is, at any cost. It is perfect for applications that require the absolute best performance in terms of lowest latency, jitter and packet loss. Examples of these applications include Voice over IP (VoIP), multi-player on-line games (MMO RPG, FPS, RTS, etc.), highly interactive web sites, e-commerce web sites, video conferencing, and others. It is for these customers that we built our "PremiumNet". Typical "PremiumNet" customers may have low- to medium-volume web sites or provide real-time services such as Voice over IP (VoIP), or video conferencing.
PremiumNet uses redundant Juniper routers with the exceptionally high-quality and stable JunOS software and Cisco switches to connect your servers to one of the most reliable and best performing networks on Earth, owned and operated by American Internet Services. We are connected to the American Internet Services network via redundant paths using HSRP and VRRP. We can offer PremiumNet at our San Diego Tech Center (SDTC) location and our San Diego Lightwave (LWDC) location.
The American Internet Services network utilizes the Avaya Converged Network Analyzer technology (formerly "RouteScience"). This technology significantly improves upon standard BGP. BGP uses only one metric to determine how to route traffic: the number of Autonomous Systems (multi-homed networks) in a path. BGP then usually routes through the shortest path (i.e. the
fewest number of other networks). The problem with this simplistic strategy is that it will still choose the "shortest" path even if it is performing poorly. With the Avaya Converged Network Analyzer many performance-based metrics are used to modify the effective route tables used to determine the path your traffic takes. These metrics include latency, jitter, packet loss, reliability, and others.
With OC-192 (10Gbps) protected ring connectivity between 3 Data Center locations, and the Avaya Converged Network Analyzer system, your traffic will be routed between data centers and out the fastest and best performing route to the destination network, no matter what carrier or at which location that carrier is connected.
PremiumNet was built and is maintained by experienced Cisco certified Engineers with CCNP and CCIE certifications. It is also monitored 24x7 to maintain the peak performance and availability.
PremiumNet was built to serve the performance- and uptime-sensitive customer. The cost for this network is much higher than that which is typically offered with Dedicated Servers. It is also unusual for Dedicated Server customers to actually use more than 250GB of total transfer per server per month. This is why the PremiumNet bandwidth included with our Dedicated Servers is bundled at the amount that it is. If you have higher bandwidth needs and our ValueNet is not the right solution for you, please contact us for pricing for more bandwidth on PremiumNet.
